Exciting times for our proud member Rocket Vulture, who are releasing their next game Cannibal Cuisine today on Steam and Nintendo Switch. Time to sharpen those knives, poke up the stove, and cook for your lives!
Building on the solid fun of local co-op classic Overcooked, Cannibal Cuisine adds a very spicy ingredient to the mix: human flesh! In order to appease the evil god Hoochooboo, you’ll have to slice up innocent tourists and turn them into tasty treats. Before you’re able to mix in the right ingredients, you’ll have to hunt your prey who don’t go down without a fight. Luckily for you (and your god’s stomach) a machete usually beats a travel guide.
The campaign features 24 manic levels where you’ll have to combine your fighting, cooking, and platforming skills to finally defeat the bane of your existence in his volcanic lair. When you team up with up to three other players, it seems like a good idea to try and divide the tasks, but those plans quickly desolve into chaos, and by the end you’ll all be tumbling over each other to keep Hoochooboo’s belly full at all times. If somebody screws up one too many times, you can also outcook the infidel in a thrilling versus match.
The game wears its inspiration on its sleeve, but Rocket Vulture has added all kinds of special flavours, such as boss levels that have nothing to do with cooking, and extra voodoo powers to give your cannibal chefs an edge in battle or when heating up a dish. The result is a cool couch party game with a lot of easily digestable cartoon violence and tongue-in-cheek humor.
