As you might remember, our proud nation is once again gearing up for a majestic presence at gamescom in Cologne. The Belgian games booth will be even bigger (168m²) than last year so all Belgian game companies can show the gaming world what they’re made of.
Continuing on the road to gamescom, where we take a closer look at all the companies that will be on show, our next stop is Adshot.
Adshot is a unique start-up that wants to bring influential gamers and brands together. Their main philosophy is that traditional online marketing is failing to reach a meaningful audience. Gamers don’t get excited for banners on game websites or have silenced them completely with the use of ad blockers. The people behind Adshot believe this is mainly due to a disconnect between the message and the medium and are building a platform to reach a level of authenticity that goes way beyond renting ad space on a web site.
Brands can reach out to Adshot to launch campaigns on their platform, after which Adshot proposes sponsorships to the influencers in their database. When signing up, these content creators can indicate what types of sponsorships they’re interested in so Adshot always finds the right people for the right campaigns.
As operational costs for brands are kept low compared to manually handling influencer contracts, brands are encouraged to invest in several smaller channels instead of bigger ones. This way Adshot not only helps out its customers, but at the same time supports the content creators they work with.
Whether you’re an influencer that’s interested in doing targeted sponsorships or a company that’s interested in doing business with relevant content creators who can become real ambassadors for their brand, head down to the Belgian booth at gamescom and have a chat with these ambitious guys.
As always: a warm thank you to the wonderful people at Flanders DC, who turn gamescom into an essential experience. They couldn’t do that without the valuable support of Digital Wallonia, Brussels Invest and Export, Screen Brussels, VAF Gamefonds, WALGA, Creative Europe and ADN. Thank you all!
