It’s been a while since we’ve mentioned COVID-19, isn’t it? Let’s talk about that for a change. It’s good news too, as Flanders Investment & Trade (link in Dutch) is offering extra corona support as part of their Corona Exit-plan in order for companies to reboot their export activity.
As soon as you hit that big red LAUNCH GAME button, you’re competing internationally, which makes our #FlemishGamesIndustry highly eligible. You could use these funds to attend digital/hybrid events for instance (such as NordicGame, Develop Brighton Digital or Game Connection Europe) and raise the international profile of your game.
Up to you really to decide what you do with the money as long as there is a link with export. Also, you get these funds upfront!
You can submit your project from 5th October until 28th October. FIT is also organising a couple of webinars next week to explain the plan in more detail and help you submit a proper application.
There’s two types of companies that can apply for a grant:
- Starter (link in Dutch): 150 starting companies who have never received support from FIT can apply for a grant of € 7000. Webinars are being organised on 22nd September and 24th September (links in Dutch). We estimate the majority of our local game companies will fall into this category.
- Experienced (link in Dutch): 500 companies with minimum 5 FTE’s, at least 20% export rate and positive equity can apply for a grant of € 5000. Webinars are being organised on 22nd September and 24th September (links in Dutch).
You can apply for the webinars, which are locked to a maximum of 200 attendees until 20th September. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to get some extra financial backing to support your export strategy.
