The European Commission published it’s latest report on serious games. The full title of the report: “The Potential of Digital Games for Empowerment and Social Inclusion of Groups at Risk of Social and Economic Exclusion: Evidence and Opportunity for Policy”.
Flemish researchers at the University of Ghent contributed to the report. Among them Jan Van Looy, Frederik De Grove and Anissa All. Lizzy Bleumers of SMIT also contributed.
The report highlights the importance of digital games to empower people that are at risk of social exclusion due to unemployment, low skills, discrimination, barriers to disabled people, poor health and other factors associated with social exclusion and poverty.
