LuGus Studios in Genk launched its first entertainment game, called Runes. The combat game is set in an alternative version of history. In 375 BC the Gallic chieftain Brennos destroys Rome using the power of magical runes. The player uses the Leap Motion technology to draw magical runes on the screen and cast them on an online enemy player or an NPC.
To win, you need the right strategy and perfect timing; it’s like playing a cool, expanded, fast-paced version of rock-paper-scissors. The Leap Motion controller converts hand and finger gestures to the screen: wave, grab, reach… with your hands and your movement is tranlated on screen. LuGus Studios intends on using this technology for serious game in healthcare projects.
Runes is playable of Mac or PC. It’s on sale for $4,99 through Leap Motion’s Airspace store and it’s available on Stream Greenlight too.
