The #FlemishGamesIndustry is going places. Literally! We’ve brought our studios to gamescom and GDC, but proud FLEGA member Crazy Monkey Studios is taking it a step further. This weekend they’re in Japan to showcase the recently released console versions of their hit sequel Guns, Gore & Cannoli 2 at Tokyo Game Show. If Google Translate is to be believed: subarashī!
It’s actually the second year in a row the studio’s games are playable, but this year CEO Steven Verbeek made the trip himself for the first time. They scored the place on the show floor through their partnership with Intragames, a Korean company that specialises in putting out Western games on the Asian market that has partnerships with behemoths like Ubisoft and Focus Home Interactive, but also worked with popular Spanish indie outfit Tequila Works.
Guns, Gore & Cannoli has performed consistenly well in the Japanse market and by guiding interested players through an action-packed demo of the sequel, Crazy Monkey Studios hopes to keep the momentum going. We wish them all the best and sincerely hope they inspire other Belgian studios to take a look at the possibilities of the Asian market.
