It’s been over three years since proud FLEGA member Possibly Pixels has launched its digital storybook app TaleThings. With the retelling of classic Aesop Fable The Tortoise and The Hare they have recently added a third storybook to their handcrafted digital storybook series.
The classic tale of hubris joins previous stories The Raven and the Fox and 3 Goats and a Troll. You can get all three of these beautiful digital storybooks for less than a fiver. So go check them out on the App Store or Google Play Store if you want to support this team to make more stories in the future. Meticulously crafting these will take some time, but you know what they say: slow and steady wins the race.
Built with Unity, TaleThings stories are brought to life with playful animations and effects. Toddlers can marvel at the beautiful scenery while listening to the story, while children who are learning to read can follow along with the word highlighting feature. As the stories are narrated by professional voice actors in different languages (English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified) and Norwegian), the app is also a fun way to learn a new language.
Possibly Pixels was founded six years ago by academics Jelle Husson, Jeroen Wauters and Lieven Van den Audenaeren. Inspired by the audio cassettes and storybooks from his childhood, Husson set out to create a digital experience to capture that same kind of wonder. The result is TaleThings and we’re very much looking forward to what’s up next for that story.
